My trip advisor review:
Not been for a while and as it was a lovely sunny saturday in the middle of the school holidays, as you can imagine it was very busy. The food coming out of the kitchen (especially the freshly made pizza from the dedicated pizza kitchen) looked (and smelt!) amazing and was very fairly priced. Unfortunately due to how busy it was there was an hour wait on food so didn't get to try it this time.
The beer garden was bustling with families, dogs and even a horse grazing on the grass! There is an outdoor bar / shack located in the beer garden that serves drinks but also does cheeseburgers and hot dogs for a quick snack. Next to that is a little 'tuck shop' for the kids with most items being only 10p. This was very popular with the younger ones.
They even had a bouncy castle to go with the small play area which included a play boat!
There was music both inside and outside the pub which added to the atmosphere.
There is a section inside the pub that they allow dogs in, which even has a 'doggy' tuck shop where you can buy biscuits and treats. They have a large Belfast sink in the toilets to clean up if you get a bit muddy on the water park.
The small car park at the side of the pub is now 'pay and display' with the minimum of 2 hours costing you £1 and going up to £5 for the whole day. Although you get your £1 (2 hours) back if you spend over £3 at the bar. There is also a metrolink/tram stop a few minutes walk from the pub, plus an additional larger car park just a 10 minute walk away near to the entrance of Sale water park itself.
The pub is located right next to the canal and is a 5 / 10 minute walk from the lake at Sale Water Park. There is also a bicycle repair and hire shop across from the pub which is handy for those looking to enjoy the canal trails etc.
Overall, a great pub where everybody (and every dog!) is welcome. It is especially nice during those warm sunny days that we occasionally have in this country! The staff that I encountered were very friendly, especially the lad on the outside bar. Myself and my family will definitely be frequenting Jackson's Boat on a more regular basis from now on.
*Just be advised that on sunny days / weekends it can get quite busy so sometimes there is a long wait on food*
Great place! Lovely place to drink & eat good location for walks, The staff are very friendly, its even dog friendly which is a bonus for us & you can even order doggy dinners at the bar for your dog. Even our dog enjoys comming here. Defo recommend to come here
Came up to Jackson's Boat on Saturday with 20+ family members to celebrate the reveal of mine and Mike's baby gender and couldn't be happier. The manager Deon was fantastic she gave us our own gazebo to celebrate with everyone and made sure we had everything we needed and regularly came to chat to us. The staff were lovely and the food was delicious. We will strongly recommend to family and friends and will most definitely be returning. Massive thank you to Deon and all the staff you truly made it a day for us to remember, me & Mike had a lovely day thank you so much
